Speaker 1:

So today I will be diving into one of the most transformative concepts in the manifesting world, and that is the higher self. What is your higher self and why connecting with it changes everything? I'll break down what the higher self is, how it's different from your mind and the ego, and why connecting it is going to open you up to a whole new perspective on life. If you're ready to tap into a deeper sense of purpose, clarity and alignment, this episode is for you. So what is the higher self. Let's start with that basic question what exactly is the higher self? And I want you to think of your higher self, in regards to how I'm going to talk about it today, as the wisest, most authentic version of you. It's the part of you that's calm, grounded and intuitive, the inner guide that knows your deepest desires, values and potential. So, while our minds and egos often focus on daily tasks and our immediate reality, our higher self, the higher self has a broader perspective, seeing past limitations to really seeing your full potential and purpose. So think of your higher self like your freaking bestie, slash high person. I like to imagine it as a wise mentor who knows what's best for me, wants to help align with that path.

Speaker 1:

So what's the difference between your higher self, mind and ego? So there's a difference between that and I'm sure you can probably figure that out, but I'm going to say it so you can know exactly. And then you can kind of begin to intuitively know like is this my mind? Is this my logical mind, or is this my ego? Is this coming out of fear? Is this coming out of pride, where the higher self is neither of those right. So the mind is the part of you that focuses on logic, planning practical matters. It helps you solve problems and make decisions.

Speaker 1:

Now the ego is the part of you that's concerned with your identity, your image, self-perservation. It often reacts from a place of fear and comparison and can be responsible for feelings of insecurity, defensiveness, and sometimes can show up as self-doubt as well. The higher self is not like the mind or the ego. The higher self sees beyond fears and beyond limitations. So it's a compassionate, wise self focused on the highest good, always encouraging you to live in alignment with your true values. So if you're not sure, like how to connect with your higher self, you can start with identifying your true values. So by listening to your higher self, you can make choices that reflect your authentic desires rather than temporary needs or fears. Because sometimes we can do practical things to get our needs met in the short term, which seems very logical, but then you don't take that leap of faith which can be considered impractical, but in the long term, it would have better reward right, a bigger reward or a quicker reward to what you are desiring.

Speaker 1:

So why is connecting with your higher self important? How does it change everything for you? So, by building a relationship with your higher self. It's going to bring incredible shifts, so shifts in your perspective, shifts in your wellbeing, and that's what it has done for me when I've went through my spiritual reawakening. I like to call it reawakening because I feel like this wasn't the first time that I went through this, which was back in 2019. And we all kind of go through this. We kind of yo-yo into a spiritual awakening and then life gets the best of us and we go back into that hustle and bustle mode, kind of just forgetting to connect with our higher self. For some people, going to church can kind of fulfill this role for them, and for others it can just having a practice like I talk about, and sometimes it's a combination of both. And I always say whatever works for you, whatever helps you connect with that higher version of yourself to help guide you, to help bring you intuitive decisions and to help you live a life with ease and flow.

Speaker 1:

So connecting with your higher self changes everything, because it gives you clarity of purpose. When you connect with your higher self, your life purpose becomes more clear. You are guided by your core values rather than societal expectations or any external pressures that you've put on yourself. It can help you reduce stress and anxiety. So the higher self operates from a place of calm and presence, which helps you reduce stress. So, instead of reacting to fear or ego-driven thoughts, you can approach situations with more peace and objectivity, so less from a place of defensiveness, and then you can actually get what you are desiring to begin with, right To have a life with more ease than flow, and connecting with your higher self is going to help. You have aligned decision making, so decisions become easier because they're guided by a part of you that truly wants the best for you. So you make choices that resonate with long-term desires and your authentic self, versus in the short term, with a mind. The more logical mind is going to be at and not out of fear, which is where the ego mind is. So enhancing self-love and acceptance is another thing that focusing on your higher self is going to bring, so you'll be able to be more compassionate and have a more loving view of yourself, recognizing that you have an inherent worth Like.

Speaker 1:

You don't have to be hustling all the time. You don't have to be mom, you know wife and all of these thousand roles every single moment of the day. Yeah, of course you want to be a great mom and you're going to be a great mom when you are face-to-face with your children, getting them ready, but that doesn't mean that you have to think about them all day long and how you know all day long and how you're going to make sure that they're going to have a great rest of their day for that day. So here's a way that you can practice ways to connect with your higher self. All it takes is a few minutes. You know five to 10 minutes. It just depends on what you choose.

Speaker 1:

I always talk about choosing one activity. If this is completely brand new to you, keep it simple. Pick one that seems like fun and that is going to be easy to add into your daily schedule. So this is how you actually connect with your higher self. So there's three different ways that I do this daily, which is meditation, journaling and mindful walking. I actually just got back from a walk which was not planned but I had time and I was. Like you know. I can sit down at my desk and start working, or I can go outside for a quick 10 minute walk, which is what I always suggest all of my clients to make time for five to 10 minutes to go outside recharge, and if your daily routine is not recharging you, then you need to reevaluate what you're doing. So back to the three things meditation, journaling, mindful walking, and I'll throw in there the yoga sequence of sun salutations. I usually like to do that in the morning and then in the evenings, some bedtime yoga, all right.

Speaker 1:

So meditation, you can just start with five to 10 minutes a day. Find a quiet place, close your eyes and focus on your breathing and imagine yourself connecting with the wisest, calmest version of yourself and allow any messages or insights just arise. Whatever you have handy, just sitting down and meditating and sitting in quiet. Now, if you're like, oh my gosh, that seems too much, or I have too many thoughts, don't stress out about it. Don't stress out about the thoughts, because the thoughts are going to rush in and you can remind yourself to allow them to rush out just as they come in.

Speaker 1:

When you start to meditate, you are going to have a lot of thoughts coming in, and the reason is is because it's new and your body and your mind haven't done that before and it's like, oh my gosh, finally she's sitting down and it starts to all pour in. Maybe the first week or two you just allow thoughts to pour in and remind yourself when a thought comes in of like, oh my gosh, I got to go pick up this from the grocery store, or the kids have Friday off and I don't know what I'm going to do with them. As the thoughts start to flow in, just remind yourself okay, I got it, and eventually the thoughts will slow down and then you'll be able to gain some clarity and maybe you get some inspiration. Right, be like oh, on Friday, when they're here, I can have them. Do X, y, z, and then you can simply open your eyes and write that down. Right, because oftentimes we think of meditation being like we're in it and that's it, and no distractions and don't interrupt me and making it this crazy thing that it doesn't need to be because of whoever said that it needed to be this way. No, you make it work for you. That's what it's for. It's to help you connect with your higher self, and if you just need to sit and let the thoughts wash over you, then do that. If you are having inspiration and creative thoughts come in, then write them down. If nothing comes and you're simply listening to your breath, that works too. Whatever comes through is what's meant to be.

Speaker 1:

Next thing is journaling. So in the mornings, in the afternoons and in the evenings, I like to set it some time to journal. Do I get to do all three all the time? No, I don't. But that's my goal To dedicate a few minutes each day to write to my higher self, ask questions like what do I need to know today, how can I align with my highest good? And then just allowing the answers to come through from a place of calm and intuition rather than my usual thought pattern. Right? So more on the just whatever comes through, similar to meditation, right, you can do those activities together. You can meditate first and then journal, or you can journal and then meditate, whichever works for you, and you can just kind of test it out, and maybe one day you do it one way and the next day you do it another way. All the same, it all works. And then, finally, doing mindful walks Taking walks without distractions, not having your phone.

Speaker 1:

I usually like to listen to music, but every once in a while I will walk without earbuds. You can do it either way, listening to music or staying present, and this will help you create a sense of grounding and peace and making it easier to connect with your higher self and really putting you in a place of gratitude. Today actually is a really nice day. It actually was really crappy in the morning because it was kind of humid, but this afternoon, as I was walking, I'm just like enjoying it. The clouds feel brighter, the music sounds so in tune. I actually listened to the same song a few times on repeat. I was just like, oh my gosh, I love this, I love this day, I love this place, I love my life, those kinds of things.

Speaker 1:

And the more that you have mindful walks with yourself, then you're able to connect with your higher self and really start to connect with that gratitude. The gratitude is going to help change your life as well. So these practices don't have to take a lot of time, but they make a huge difference in your ability to hear and connect with your higher self, and your higher self is guidance. So, to recap everything, the higher self is the wisest, truest version of you that's beyond the limitations of your mind and ego, and connecting with it brings clarity and peace and purpose, helping you make decisions that are aligned with your authentic path right, your purpose here. So, whether you meditate, journal or take mindful walks or some yoga. Every little small daily practice that you do is going to help you connect, and it's truly a gift to allow yourself to tune in with that part of yourself, even if it's just for a few moments a day. The impact is going to just change how you show up in the world.

Speaker 1:

So, before we go, I'd love to guide you through a brief meditation to help you connect with your higher self. And, when you are ready, go ahead and go somewhere where you can sit comfortably, or even lay, if you like. And if you like, go ahead and close your eyes. You can close them softly and have a soft gaze, whatever feels comfortable for you. You can put your hands next to yourself on your laps Again, whatever feels most comfortable to you.

Speaker 1:

Take a nice deep breath in and hold it for a moment and exhale. Take another nice deep breath in Hold for a moment and exhale. Take another nice deep breath in, hold and exhale. Let go of any tension you're feeling in your body. Relax in this present moment and now begin to visualize your higher self. Imagine a warm, comforting light in front of you. This light represents your higher self, the calm, loving presence within you. Picture it moving closer, enveloping you with its warmth and wisdom, and now silently ask your higher self what do I need to know right now? What do I need to know right now? How can I align more deeply with my purpose? How can I align more deeply with my purpose and just listen without judgment, letting any insights arise naturally? And when you're ready, take a nice deep breath in hone and release. Thank your higher self for its guidance and slowly open your eyes. Remember you can return to this space anytime you need for clarity or peace.
