Hey everyone, welcome back to the Manifesting Latina podcast, where I blend mindset, manifestation and spirituality with everyday healing. I'm your host, dr Norma Reyes, and today we're diving into a powerful tool that I often use with myself and suggest it to clients to release emotional blocks, and that is the emotional freedom technique, and today I will be guiding you on through releasing some stress and overwhelm with eft. It is a simple tool that really, really works, and I have really leaned into it these last few weeks. What is eft and where did it come from? So eft, or tapping, is a gentle, yet powerful technique that combines ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology. It was developed by Gary Craig in the 1990s and it is based on the idea that negative emotions are caused by disruptions in the body's energy system. It involves tapping on specific meridian points on the face and body, while voicing thoughts or affirmations. It's kind of like emotional acupuncture, but without the needles, and you can do it to yourself, anywhere, anytime. And why does it work? When we are overwhelmed, stressed or holding onto heavy energy, our nervous system goes into fight or flight mode. So EFT helps regulate the nervous system, reduce cortisol, which is stress hormone, and calm the emotional centers of the brain, especially the amygdala. It allows us to shift limiting beliefs, rewire our subconscious mind and feel grounded again. And sometimes that you can use it is when you're stressed and overwhelmed or anxious, when you're about to have a tough conversation or take a big leap, when you feel like you're spiraling or stuck in a negative thought pattern, when you're trying to manifest but your energy feels off. So those are just a few times you can use it, but really anytime that you feel like you want a way to regulate your nervous system or change your vibration or your energy, that is an excellent time to use it. I used it this morning and I was like, oh, I gotta, I gotta make an episode about this.
Speaker 1:So let's go ahead and do a quick tapping round to relieve stress and overwhelm If you're driving or doing something that needs your focus. Come back to this part later. So first we're going to begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose, pause, and out through your mouth. Take another nice deep breath in out your mouth. One last deep breath in and then out your mouth. Go ahead and take a moment to rate your stress or overwhelm level from zero to 10. 10 being the most stress and overwhelm that you've ever felt. Zero meaning no stress, no overwhelm, feeling completely calm. Go ahead and write down the number. It's important to write down the number because this is going to shift your energy and once you are done, you can come back and reflect what number you are at so you can see if it worked or if you need to do another round of this. Okay, go ahead and repeat after me as we tap on the following points. I'm going to share where to tap. The first one is the karate chop point, and this is the side of your hand it's the little plushy part and you're going to use your opposite hand's fingers to tap there. If you haven't ever done tapping before, I will go ahead and put a picture in the show notes that you can reference if you need that. But this is the point is on the hand, on the side of the hand, and then your opposite hand. You're tapping with the fingers gently and as you are tapping, we're going to start on the side of the hand, the karate chop and start.
Speaker 1:Even though I feel overwhelmed and there's so much on my mind, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, even though I feel stressed and like I'm falling apart. I honor how I feel and choose to come back to calm, even though I'm holding pressure and urgency. I give myself permission to let it go now. I'm going to repeat this one more time. Even though I feel overwhelmed and there's so much on my mind, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, even though I feel stressed and like I'm falling behind. I honor how I feel and choose to come back to calm, even though I'm holding so much pressure and urgency. I give myself permission to let it go now. Next tapping points the eyebrow. There's so much on my plate. There's so much on my plate. Side of the eye I feel like I can't slow down. I feel like I can't slow down Under the eye. I'm doing my best, but it feels like too much. I'm doing my best, but it feels like too much. Under the nose, all this stress, all this stress At the chin, all this stress At the chin, all this tension in my body, all this tension in my body, collarbone, I've been carrying so much. I've been carrying so much Under the arm. I'm ready to let it go now. I'm ready to let it go now.
Speaker 1:Top of the head I'm safe to breathe, release and reset. I'm safe to breathe, release and reset. Eyebrow I'm safe to slow down. I am safe to slow down. Side of the eye I'm allowed to rest. I am allowed to rest Under the eye. I give myself permission to feel peace. I give myself permission to feel peace Under the nose. I trust that things are unfolding perfectly. I trust that things are unfolding perfectly. Chin, I choose to return are unfolding perfectly. Chin, I choose to return to my power. I choose to return to my power. Collarbone, I am calm, centered and grounded. I am calm, centered and grounded Under the arm. This is where the bra line is. It's safe to relax and receive. It's safe to relax and receive Last time top of the head, and I feel lighter, clearer and more aligned.

Now, okay, go ahead and take a nice deep breath in through your nose, take a pause, exhale through your mouth, take another nice deep breath in and, as you do feel how relaxed your body is and release any remaining tension, take a last nice deep breath in, hold it and release. Notice how you feel now. Rate your stress level again. Did it shift? If it didn't repeat it one more time. You can do this tapping anytime, anywhere.
